  2. Apply downward pressure to compress the wax ring and create a watertight seal.

Step 6: Secure the Toilet

  1. Place washers and nuts onto the mounting bolts and tighten them evenly.
  2. Ensure the toilet is level. If not, use shims to level it.

Step 7: Connect the Water Supply

  1. Connect the water supply line to the fill valve on the bottom of the toilet tank.
  2. Turn on the water supply and check for any leaks.

Step 8: Install the Tank Lid Place the tank lid onto the tank and ensure it is secure.

Step 9: Caulk Around the Base (Optional) Caulk around the base of the toilet for a finished look and to prevent moisture from seeping underneath. This step is optional but recommended.

Step 10: Test the Toilet

  1. Flush the toilet and check for proper flushing and refilling.
  2. Look for any leaks around the base and connections.

Step 11: Finish Up

  1. Trim the excess length of the mounting bolts.
  2. Install the bolt caps to conceal the bolts.
